This incredibly intricate butterfly pendant was handmade by Navajo silversmith Fred Charley to exemplify Native American culture and a Butterfly Maiden Kachina from the Hopi tribe. This kachina is said to pollenate flowers in the springtime. Fred completes this pendant with fine details such as twist wire wrapped its stone, hand-cut negative space, and 3D detail. The Valley Blue Turquoise Mine was a small Nevada mine located in the Lander County region, which became fairly famous for a small time mine in the 60s and 70s. The most saught-after cuts from this mine include the soft milky blue shades seen in the specimin in this pendant. Fred uses a natural, gem grade (highest grade) Valley Blue turquoise stone to create this piece.
